Johan & Louise - A Stunning Andalusian Celebration at Cortijo Bravo

Cortijo Bravo sits in the hills east of Vélez-Málaga, where the Málaga province stretches away from the coast and the landscape becomes quieter and older. The estate has the feel of somewhere that has held celebrations for generations - the stone walls have a particular warmth, the shade of the olive grove is generous, and the summer light arrives at exactly the right angle to make everything glow.

Johan and Louise, from Sweden, had always known they wanted to marry in Andalucía. After travelling through the south of Spain together years before, they chose to celebrate their wedding in the Málaga countryside, surrounded by olive trees, hills, and their closest family and friends.

Louise got ready in the morning while guests slowly arrived. The ceremony took place outdoors with beautiful views across the Andalusian landscape - unhurried, personal, and true to who they are. The rest of the day unfolded naturally, with long tables, speeches, music, laughter, and a warm summer atmosphere that lasted well into the evening.

Cortijo Bravo is one of Málaga's most distinctive rural wedding venues. The estate sits in the foothills of the Axarquía, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, with views across the valley toward the coast. It has the textured, unhurried quality of an Andalusian working estate - terracotta tiles, exposed stone, old wooden beams - and a scale that suits celebrations of around sixty to a hundred and twenty guests without ever feeling either cramped or empty.

The venue is particularly well suited to hacienda-style or rural weddings where the landscape is as much a part of the day as any decoration.
